Auckland
"Auckland at the time was rated in the top 10 cities in the standard of living survey," says Rowan de Beer, Head of Commerce at a South Auckland secondary school.
Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city with a steadily increasing population, is where most teaching opportunities can be found. Experienced secondary teachers – especially those teaching high demand subjects – primary teachers, and early childhood teachers are required to staff many schools and early childhood services struggling to keep up with the roll growth.
An Auckland Early Childhood Teachers Relief Pool to attract suitably qualified early childhood teachers has recently been introduced to help ease the teaching pressures in early childhood services. The specific purpose of the pool is to support centres during periods when staff are studying or on practicum.
