Returning teachers

New Zealand needs well-qualified, dynamic and enthusiastic teachers who enjoy working with young people – whether it is at the early childhood, primary or secondary level.

Returning teachers make up a significant proportion of teacher intakes each year.  People with teaching experience and life skills are highly sought after in our schools and early childhood services. 

From time to time there are more opportunities in some teaching sectors than others - for instance, more male teachers are needed in early childhood and primary classrooms.  We’ve summarised where other opportunities also currently lie:
