While New Zealand always has an ongoing need for high-quality, well-educated teachers, the job market is particularly buoyant for early childhood teachers, Māori Medium teachers, Māori and Pasifika teachers and secondary teachers of specific subjects.

• Teachers of specific secondary subjects - maths, physics, chemistry, te reo Māori and technology - are in particular demand.
  
• There are also great opportunities for registered early childhood teachers throughout the country.
  
• Māori and Pasifika teachers are also in demand across the early childhood, primary and secondary sectors.
  
• Men are particularly welcome in primary and ECE teaching.
  
• Experienced primary teachers are being sought in Auckland schools where rolls continue to grow and in other parts of the country where primary rolls are steadily increasing.
