The 2017 TeachNZ Graduate (Secondary) Scholarships are now closed.

The 2017 TeachNZ Graduate (Secondary) Scholarships closed on Monday 7 February 2017.

TeachNZ scholarships are subject to change each year, including the categories, types and numbers of scholarships available.

Please check the scholarships table on the TeachNZ website in September to receive updated information on scholarships available for 2018.

The information below applies to the 2017 TeachNZ Graduate (Secondary) Scholarships.

If you're a graduate, proficient or fluent in te reo Māori, and you want to train to become a secondary teacher, this is a scholarship opportunity that could lead to a new, exciting and challenging career for you.

Your study fees paid plus an allowance for one year of study

The scholarships will cover core study fees and pay an allowance of $10,000 for one year of study. They are for people who will commence their study at the start of the 2017 academic year - but you must have started the process to enrol in an approved Graduate Diploma/Master of Teaching before applying.

We offer two types of Graduate Scholarships (Secondary) for 2017:

Tipu Whakarito Te Reo Māori - for people wanting to teach te reo Māori as a subject in secondary schools.

Te Waka Whakarei - for people wanting to teach a secondary subject in te reo Māori in wharekura.

Applications for the 2017 Graduate (Secondary) Scholarships opened 5 December 2016 and closed 7 February 2017.
