Job Find Seminars

Part of the assistance Education Personnel provides to beginning teachers involves delivering Job Find seminars to teachers who are about to graduate and who have already graduated.

The purpose of these seminars is to help you win a teaching role and give you tips, hints and information to ensure you are ready to make a start in teaching.

The ‘Getting Your Start in Teaching’ seminars include:

  • information on the current employment situation in the education sector
  • the best strategies to improve your chances at each stage of the application process, including information on how to prepare an effective CV and cover letter, and how to impress at your interview
  • your options if you have not yet secured a role
  • an opportunity for questions and answers with one of NZ’s most experienced professional teacher recruiters
  • other job opportunities.

Education Personnel delivers these seminars to student teachers at the following universities once a year:

  • University of Auckland
  • University of Waikato
  • Massey University
  • Victoria University of Wellington
  • University of Canterbury
  • University of Otago

Teachers who have graduated will be able to attend some of these seminars.
