Teach te reo Maori - Scholarship Opportunities

TeachNZ offered a range of scholarships in 2012 for people wanting to teach te reo Māori: 

2012 School Leaver and Undergraduate Scholarships


School Leaver and Undergraduate (Primary) Māori Medium

These scholarships were available for people who are either proficient or fluent in te reo Māori and who wish to work as a primary teacher in bilingual or immersion classes.

School Leaver and Undergraduate (Secondary) Tipu Whakarito Te Reo Māori me Te Waka Whakarei

These scholarships were available for people who are either proficient or fluent in te reo Māori and who wish to work as a secondary teacher.

There were two types available:
Tipu Whakarito Te Reo Māori - for people wanting to teach te reo Māori as a subject in secondary schools.

Te Waka Whakarei - for people wanting to teach a secondary subject in te reo Māori in Wharekura.

 

2012 Early Childhood Education Graduate and Undergraduate scholarships


ECE Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship was available for people with a degree or diploma (a Level 7 qualification) wanting to complete a one-year Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education), who have knowledge, understanding and experience working with Māori or Pasifika communities, who want to teach in the early childhood sector. 

ECE Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship was available for people who have knowledge, understanding and experience working with Māori or Pasifika communities who want to teach in the early childhood sector. 

ECE Māori Language scholarship

This scholarship was available for people who are proficient in te reo Māori and have knowledge, understanding and experience working with Māori communities, who want to teach in the early childhood sector. 

ECE Pasifika Language scholarship

This scholarship was available for people who are proficient in a Pasifika language, have knowledge, understanding and experience working with Pasifika communities, who want to teach in the early childhood sector.
