Secondary teachers' study support grant

Study Support Grants provide a 0.16 FTTE time allowance allowing teachers to study or undertake research while continuing to teach.

You can also apply for a reimbursement of up to $500 toward your course fees, once you have successfully finished your course.

There are 100 Secondary School Teachers' Study Support Grants available each year for fully registered teachers, in state or state-integrated schools, covered by the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement (STCA).

The 0.16 FTTE is added to your schools staffing entitlement for use through the year. This works out approx. 4 hours per week depending on how you and your school structure your leave.

When a course has particular time requirements (e.g. a block course) the time allowance may be used flexibly in agreement with the your school.

The 2025 Secondary Teachers' Study Support Grants will be opening on Thursday 1 August 2024.
