Te Huarau Scholarship

The first application round of the 2020 TeachNZ Scholarship Programme has recently closed.

You will be able to apply for a Te Huarau Scholarship again from 6th December!

If you want to teach, a Te Huarau scholarship can support your journey.

The Te Huarau scholarship is designed to assist applicants studying to teach any subject in any sector.

Undergraduate or graduate, if you are enrolled on, or plan to enrol on, any approved teaching programme this could be the scholarship for you!

As a Te Huarau Scholar you gain access to:

  • Course fees to study an approved teaching qualification
  • An allowance of $10,000 over the period of your study (limited to four years)

To be eligible, you are required to:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
  • Be enrolled on, have applied for, or be intending on enrol on an approved qualification.

Please be aware, that due to the limited availability of the Te Huarau Scholarship (130) they may all be allocated before the third round.

You can apply for multiple scholarships, but can only be granted one. Part-time options are available.
